XIV

In the early 2000’s, founder Nathan L. Samuels was exploring new worlds of sound that didn’t conform to common ways people describe music. The end result was XIV: a deep and melodic blend of live and electronic sounds combining elements of trip-hop, downtempo and jazz. Sultry vocals by Kelly Samuels and Shani Ayanna, weave seamlessly into a rich tapestry of hypnotic melodies, throbbing beats and deep, driving bass lines by Tony Sandoval. With the release of their third album Iota on See Through Records, XIV has taken their unique sound even further, thrilling audiences with multimedia live performances from the Belly Up Tavern to the Northern Nights Music Festival. Their latest album Kappa takes their trip-hop sound to a whole new level, incorporating violin, saxophone and Emcee Peace Be Free.  XIV has received acclaim for their visually stunning music videos 'Silver Rays' and 'Breakdown', which was included in the film 66 & Nowhere, winner of Best Soundtrack at the Laughlin International Music Festival. 

Their groundbreaking spherical surround sound recording BreakDown (Live in TrueSPL for Dolby Atmos) featuring Froggy & MykeyWay was Grammy® considered for Best Alternative Music Performance.
